About Sr. Maureen Michael Byrne

Stillpoint Studio Creating Art is a peaceful place in Historic downtown Venice Florida.

The name of the studio signifies centering oneself, to be able to create a work of art, to be able to express a feeling, a place for spiritual growth.

Sr. Maureen Michael Byrne, a School Sister of Notre Dame is the artist/teacher. She has had many years of teaching experience, has been featured on a Gulf Coast Journal with Jack Perkins, and Vee on Venice both TV shows.

Her work, inspired by nature, has been shown at the Sarasota Art Center, the Venice Art Center, and the Venice Little Theater.

Her present ministry is at STILLPOINT STUDIO CREATING ART where she teaches both adult and children as well as creating and selling her own art work.

She is a member of the Venice Art Center where she teaches the popular CLAYMANIA class in the summer; Art Center Sarasota; Sarasota County Arts Council where she participates in The Artists in the Schools Program; The ARTS and CULTURE ALLIANCE where she was awarded the Muses Award for children’s education in 2007.

Her work includes water color, acrylic, and clay sculpture and is enjoyed by many in their homes and offices.

Sr.Maureen is also a spiritual director. She has facilitated many days of prayer for adults and teens in The Venice Diocese.
